About 70 people showed up to search the Echo Park neighborhood for answers to this year's Urban Discovery event. Wayne Cottrell whizzed past the competition with a strategy that favored high point controls over bonuses. Top Female finisher was Lauren Gao of Troy High School.
Some finishers did not get their seconds recorded so it just shows as xx. If you were over two hours, it was assumed that this was not 00 when calculating your penalty. Because of confusion with multiple gates at control 338, credit was given for two different answers (flowers and ribbons). Zone bonuses were not given if you had an incorrect answer in that zone.
No one got all four 99 controls. A couple of the top scorers got three of the four. No one completed more than one full zone. The most popular zone to complete was zone 3.
