Many thanks to Rex Winterbottom for suggesting this new venue, mapping, and course setting for our first event here. It was a very nice site and an enjoyable day. Plenty of climb combined with high temperatures to make it a challenging day. The cool breezes at the top of the hill helped to keep things palatable.
Rex set three courses - White, Yellow, and Orange, plus we offered a "Motala" format consisting of doing the Orange course followed by the Yellow (twice up that hill!). Kittithon Maneewong won the Motala with a decent gap ahead of Roland Hansson. Troy cadet Lauren Gao was the top female on the Motala course. The competition was fierce on the other courses as Aron Walker and Rachel Chiang won Orange and Yellow, respectively, by margins of less than a minute and Wayne Cottrell eked out a 14 second win on White.
it was great to see so many first-timers and groups at the event. We had over 200 registrants! We hope to see you all at future events.
